Technology is bringing significant improvements in health care to doctors’ offices, hospitals and clinics across Hawai‘i Island. More than 85 percent of primary care physicians on Hawai‘i Island have adopted Electronic Health Records in their practice to improve healthcare.  On a basic level, an EHR provides a digitized version of the paper chart you often see doctors, nurses and others using. But when an EHR is connected to all of your health care providers, it can offer much more. Understanding the benefits of health information technology (Health IT) and being knowledgeable about EHRs is critical to managing your health.  Download “The Future of Health Care and You” brochure.
